Weather
This post has nothing to do with family or anything neat we have done. Although Liam did go to Discovery world with Cathy and Grandma. The real reason to post is that the forcast says that there will be a high of 6 and 7... that's right, I didn't forget the one or two before those numbers... and no, it wasn't a typo to say the high temp. That is what we can expect over the weekend. Hard to believe that us native Wisconsinites could so easily have been converted Floridians... Ugh.

Adoption #2 Update
Our social worker visited today to update our homestudy since it needs to be approved every year. Our orignial one was approved on Jan. 24, 2006. I think it is just another way to extract $150 out of you, but whatever.
We are right now currently waiting for a referral of a child. The next person on the list had their homestudy completed on Dec. 22, 2005, so it would seem that we should receive a referral in the next month.
BUT, the Korean government made a major change to their adoption laws this past year. Normally, Korean children were eligable for adoption immediately after birth, resulting in referrals of children who were as young as 2 weeks old. Liam was 3 months old when we received his referral. Beginning in 2007, each child has to be placed up for domestic adoption first for 4 or 5 months and then would be eligable for international adoption. This would greatly increase the age of internationally placed children. They will then be anywhere between 8 months and 1 year old. They also raised the cost $2000, but since we will have a referral before July 1 either way we should be clear of that.
Hopefully, we will receive a referral of a child born in 2006 and everything can proceed as planned. The law would not apply and we could hopefully travel in the spring. If not and we receive a referral of a child born in 2007 then we are looking at May or June and traveling in September or October. That would not be good, but there really isn't anything we can do about it.

Christmas Vacation in FL
Over Christmas break, we took a little trip to Florida to try and thaw out. Here are some pictures of our activities. Liam, as you can tell, spent a fair amount of time in the pool - enough to give him white rings around his eyes from not taking off his goggles. He is becoming quite an accomplished swimmer.
We also did some mini golfing and he even got to go to the real driving range. Hopefully he is a little better with the putter than his dad.
By far, his most prized Chritmas gift was his new Superman PJ's, fully equipped with cape and constant singing of the Superman theme when wearing. As of today, the record for constant wear is 3 days.Wednesday, January 3, 2007
Post #1 - Welcome!
Welcome everyone!
We thought that this might be a good way to keep people posted about what is going on at the Chateau Dusseau, Burlington location. I have tried in the past to do something like this at our website, www.dusseau.org, but I haven't really had time lately (er, the past several years).
Please check back and have a great '07!
