Playing in the Sprinkler

I set up the sprinkler the other day to water the new (Sofie) plant I planted and give the grass a drink since I burned it a tad with my last fertilizer application and Owen and Liam came out to play. Here are some nice pictures and a funny video.

Anniversary

Thursday was Cathy and my 14th anniversary. Being the great husband that I am I had some flowers delivered. I had all I could do to not have Liam spill the beans but it went off perfectly. Pictures are for proof that I am a wonderful husband.

Sofie the Cat

Well... we got back from vacation a week ago tomorrow to some bad news. Our cat of 14 years, Sofie, had died while we were gone. A couple years ago she had a heart issue that was resolved with some medicine, but over the past year she wasn't taking it anymore. We had some tears, Cathy probably more than anyone. We had a lot of questions, from Liam more than anyone. And now we have a new bush on the side of our house under which she is buried. It is kind of sad for us, even though neither Cathy or I were cat people when we got her in Sofia, Bulgaria 14 years ago. We had become quite attached to her; she moved with us all these years so it is kind of the end of stage of our life. We will see if we get a new one since Liam is technically allergic to cats, who knows.

Vacation - Days 4 - 7

Well, someone cut the fiber optic line in Scroggins, TX and thus knocked out internet access at Cathy's dad's house. In our zeal to figure out what was wrong I think we broke it some more. Hopefully he has it fixed by now.

Days 4 through 7 were good. We did a little more tubing, fishing, and skiing (or skiing attempts, I'm 0-40 now). We went to fireworks on the 4th and then again on the 5th. On Saturday we went to Fort Worth and stayed with some friends, Cathy and I used to teach with Jodi eons ago. Enjoy some of the pictures.

Vacation - Day 2 & 3

The past couple days in TX have been busy. Tuesday Cathy, Liam, & Owen went blueberry picking. The place they went also had a tame peacock and some other animals. Today we went tubing in the morning where Liam and I took some big diggers. On one run Liam went out the back head over heels doing a massive belly flop. I didn't even know he was gone and then I was flying out the side. I had legs and arms flying everywhere. On the way back we got in a family ride in the tube. Boy am I going to be sore tomorrow. If that wasn't enough I tried water skiing for the first time in my life. Unfortunately it was not a success. After about 20 times of failure I gave it up for the day. Oh well.
